In June, while en route through the Port of Corpus Christi a fully loaded tanker lost propulsion and G&H crews were quickly dispatched. Through quick maneuvering the heavy tanker was safely escorted twenty miles to a cargo birth for evaluation and repairs. The professionalism and safe seamanship the G&H crews demonstrated in guiding the tanker away from shallow water and escorting it safely into the Corpus Christi Inner Harbor prevented any environmental or property damage and avoided a possible closure of the channel – which would have negatively affected the Port of Corpus Christi.
The mariners were honored with a letter of commendation for their outstanding performance. Join us in thanking them for their teamwork, quick judgement, and expertise!
