During October 2011, G & H Towing Co. Capt. Mark Kazin reported to Yokosuka, Japan, for his Naval Reserve Duty.
During his two-week tour, Captain Kazin helped train the active duty personnel who currently operate the newly acquired YT-805 ASD tug “Seminole.”
The Seminole is a Robert Allen design Z-Tech 4500 series tug. Before the Seminole came in to service, the Navy personnel were operating a fleet of five, YTB single screw (2,000 HP) tugs.
The tugs in Yokosuka support the mooring evolutions of various types of Navy vessels that include warships, Military Sealift Command ships and combat support vessels.
