G & H Towing Company operates a fleet of over 30 tugboats that provide harbor towing in the Ports of Corpus Christi, Freeport, Galveston, Texas City and Houston. The company operates under the International Safety Management Code and American Waterways Operators Responsible Carrier Program.

Our tugs are operated by four person crews. Most crews work a four day on/four day off work schedule. Minimum licensing requirements for each position are:

• U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner/Credentials or License
• Master – USCG License as Master of Towing Vessels or equivalent endorsed for service on inland waters, or near coastal waters, or oceans with valid Radar Observer (unlimited) endorsement.
• Chief Engineer – Chief Engineer-Limited 6,000 HP or greater, Limited Near Coastal or Oceans
• Assistant Engineer – Assistant Engineer-Limited 6,000 HP or greater, Limited Near Coastal or Oceans
• Mate – Mate of Towing Vessel or equivalent on inland waters, or near coastal waters, or oceans with valid Radar Observer (unlimited)
• Deckhand – Valid USCG Merchant Mariners Document
• Deck Engine Utility – Valid USCG Merchant Mariners Document
