William M crew honored for heroics

The Coast Guard gave certificates of appreciation to the crew of the tugboat William M for their firefighting efforts, which averted a large disaster in 2006. From left are U.S. Coast Guard Capt. The Port of Corpus Christi and the Coast Guard honored the crew of the tug William M for heroically risking their lives and averting an economic and environmental tragedy in 2006.

Both entities on Wednesday, Jan. 18, commended the crew of the vessel William M — Capt. Mark McGinnis, Quartermaster William S. Ulch, Chief Engineer Walter Bickel and Andrew Morin, the boat’s deck-engine utility.
